  1. Rinse the rice in a strainer until the water runs clear. This will remove excess starch and ensure fluffy rice.
  2. In a medium-sized pot, add the rice, water, oil, and salt.
  3. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.
  4. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot with a lid, and let the rice simmer for 18 minutes. Do not lift the lid or stir during this time.
  5. After 18 minutes, turn off the heat and let the rice sit for an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Your rice is ready!
